Ljubljana, our beautiful capital, is embedded in the identity of City Hotel. We proudly carry it in our name, and also in the form of beautiful wallpapers, taken by the photographer Žiga Koritnik, which are part of all of our 200 hotel rooms. Our hotel keys, menus and lobby area are also adorned with several impressions of the city.
We are located in downtown Ljubljana, where the urban hustle and bustle rarely settles down. Luckily, we have managed to preserve a spacious green terrace on the 1st floor.
We aimed for the terrace to follow our trend of embracing Ljubljana; however in recent years, it remained stuck in “traditional restaurant” frames. This year, we decided it’s time for a small make-over. We wanted to create a characteristic retro vibe and, at the same time, add some special features that would create a truly special atmosphere for our guests.
This is how our Ljubljana story has finally taken over also the City terrace.
The main botanical star of the terrace is the white Rose of Ljubljana. We received it from the Rose Garden in Tivoli and by the looks of its beautiful blossoms, it has adapted to the new environment well.
What's better than a leisurely breakfast overlooking the mighty Ljubljana castle? Terrace breakfast is a long-standing tradition that delights our summer guests. The terrace breakfast area is now enriched with additional greenery and motivational thoughts for a successful start of the day.
After breakfast, our guests usually hurry to explore all the beauty Ljubljana and Slovenia have to offer. Now, they can spend the rare free moments before taking off in the new "relax" corner of our terrace. For complete relaxation in the embrace of aromatic greenery, we have provided comfortable deckchairs with a reading area and an authentic Ljubljana park bench.
